Call for Photographs

Greetings!

I am working on a book project with Arcadia Press. The book will be a photographic history of Rincon Point. Since much of the Rincon’s story is a surfing story, I am looking for historic surf photographs from Rincon from the earliest days (1950’s and 1960’s) up to the 1980’s—the earlier the better! If you have photographs that you would like to end up in the book, I would love to see them and have them represented in the project.

Now for the tricky bit: as someone who has worked in publishing for almost 30 years, I can assure you that writing and publishing is a labor of love rather than of much profit. A little background on me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vince-burns-40a1917/

The finished book, I hope, will be well received and see some sales. But no one will be making much money, most especially the author (me). Consider this project a hobby rather than a business! All this is a long way of saying: I can't offer you much for including your photos in the book, other than perpetual fame! For those whose photographs (2 or more photos) end up in the published book, I can offer you a free copy of the book upon publication, as well (for all) as proper sourcing and background in the caption and credit line. All photographs will be carefully logged in, scanned promptly, and then returned to you. If you would like to contribute—and I hope you do—please contact me at vinceburns805@gmail.com.

Many thanks, Vince Burns, Ventura, CA
